Manchester First Show

Spent the most hilarious 2 and half hours on the Virgin train (not an untouched by man train but a train run by, err, Virgin..) Anyhoo it was the unveiling of A.D.D Darren to Tracey (my P.A) and at one point Steve asked Tracey if there was a child's play pen I could be placed in. I guess I had a lot of spare energy.

Got excited about the gig tonight and about how the future is unfolding. Really looking forward to a break. When the tour is over I'm hoping to go visit my family and then take a good chunk of time for me.

Feel so good to be happy in the present. Not looking back. Not hoping forward. Just comfortable where it is right now. And the best thing about things winding down is that there is less stress around me.

The last 12 months, while amazing, have also been very taxing emotionally. Work wise it's been an overwhelming amount of pressure (running the label) and it had begun to drain me a bit. It's so lovely to be able to come out on the road and reconnect with music and the audiences and remember why it is I do what I do.

It's so pretty here today. Gorgeous blue skies but cold temperatures. We drove past where the old Hacienda used to be and I got sad that I never got to see it in person. Now it's a block of flats. Everything gets turned into a block of flats doesn't it.

Right now I'm finished sound check and I'm going to turn the shower on and try to steam my voice a bit in preparation for tonight's vocal gymnastics. Why oh why do I write such high notes? Hehe.

I'll write later to let you know how the gig was.
